Zhejiang has previously issued a "new provincial standard" for the construction and use of synthetic material sports venues in schools. On the basis of the current 7 national indicators, two new indicators were added: total volatile organic compound release rate (TVOC) and formaldehyde release rate. More stringent management requirements have also been put forward for the use of sports venues, such as the vacancy time of more than 2 months for qualified venues, and the introduction of "on-site odor evaluation method".
At present, regarding the technical indicators of the limit of harmful substances on the surface layer of synthetic materials in school sports venues, the current national standard clearly tests seven indicators, including benzene, toluene and xylene, free toluene diisocyanate (TDI), soluble lead, soluble cadmium, soluble chromium and soluble mercury. On this basis, the "new provincial standard" of Zhejiang added two indexes of total volatile organic compound release rate (TVOC) and formaldehyde release rate.
In addition, Zhejiang also requires strengthening the bidding management, construction management and completion acceptance of new synthetic materials sports venues. All localities and schools shall, in accordance with the contract, invite parents or faculty representatives to sample the finished product of the surface layer of synthetic materials together before the completion acceptance, and entrust a qualified authoritative testing department to test the contents of toxic and harmful substances and volatile gases therein. Any project that fails to pass the test shall not be accepted for completion. Newly completed and qualified synthetic material sports venues should be vacant for more than 2 months.
At the same time, Zhejiang issued the "On-site odor Evaluation Method of synthetic materials sports venues", suggesting that schools should comprehensively consider the completion time, weather, outdoor temperature and other factors when using, and timely adjust the use time and frequency. When the outdoor temperature is high, the smell of the synthetic material sports ground can be evaluated before the morning class and before the afternoon class, respectively, and the evaluation result of level 3 and above should be suspended. The assessment panel is composed of five healthy teachers, parents or experts from outside the school.
Method of Field Odor Evaluation for Synthetic materials Sports Venues
1. Assessment panel requirements
The assessment panel consists of 5 members, who can be teachers, parents or experts outside the school in good health. The members of the panel should have a normal sense of smell and their sense of smell should not be affected.
2. Test requirements
1. Avoid the smell drifting from the site to adapt to the smell and affect the odor evaluation results.
2. The assessed height is 1.2-1.5m from the ground, in the human respiratory zone. All group members are spaced no more than 0.5m apart and clustered together to reduce differences in location.
3. The evaluation time was 1min, and the evaluation results were given before olfactory adaptation.
3. Odor rating
1. Refer to the method in HG/T4065-2008 standard "Adhesive Odor Evaluation Method".
Level Level Status description
Primary odorless
Secondary odour is slight but perceptible
Level 3 has an odor, but no strong discomfort
A strong level four unpleasant gas
Level five has irritating and unpleasant gases
2. Members of the evaluation team shall independently evaluate the odor and give the grade. The voting results of the members of the 5 evaluation groups were counted, and the odor grade with the highest frequency and reaching 3 votes or more was used as the comprehensive evaluation result of the odor grade of the project. If there are no 3 votes of the same grade, you must leave the venue half an hour later, and then re-evaluate the smell and vote.
